We have an immediate job opening for an SRM Design Engineer who will be responsible for the design, analysis, and qualification of small solid rocket motors.

Responsibilities:
  • Design of small solid rocket motors using both black powder and composite propellants.
  • Lead development of new small motors
  • Support SRM manufacturing for existing and new products
  • Support quality assurance efforts
  • Lead anomaly investigations and develop corrective actions
  • Lead development campaigns to prove new designs
  • Review test data to ensure the products are operating as expected and support design changes as needed.
  • Lead cross-functional communications to ensure designs satisfy the needs of each stakeholder.
  • Generate, review, and approve CAD models and drawings
  • Maintain proper documentation of all designs including design reviews, test plans, requirements verification, customer documentation, etc.
  • Work with the procurement team
  • Develop and document design procedures

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field with 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Relevant experience with rocket motors, solid propulsion elements, and structural interfaces.
  • Proficiency with computer-aided design and analysis tools.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals including in-depth knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and structural mechanics.
  • Effective communication skills

Desired Experience:
  • Undergraduate degree in a technical discipline such as mechanical or aerospace engineering.  Graduate study preferred.
  • Experience with propellant formulations and testing
  • Hands-on experience supporting new product development.
  • Experience designing hardware for high-rate production including automated processes.
Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience.
